Sulphur Springs Campground: Round 2

Our second trip back to Sulphur Springs Campground was the best camping trip we've had so far. We went the first weekend of April and the weather was perfect.

If you haven't read my first blog post about our camping trips in 2021, including our first trip to Sulphur Springs, you can read that here. General information including pricing, pros and cons, and coordinates for where we camped can be found in that blog post, plus the camping gear we've used in those trips.

All camping gear used for this trip is linked at the end of this blog post.

During our first trip, the water was much higher and it wasn't the easiest to access because of brush, and ended up being one of our cons the first time around. This time that con was turned into a pro since the water was much lower, and we were able to camp on the water and easily get in to cool off!

Last time we had this entire area mostly to ourselves, but this time there was actually a lot of people camping. However, the water being lower actually allowed additional campsites that weren't available last time. So regardless of it being busier, we still had plenty of space between us and other campers.

Below are pictures are from our camp setup, and the views we had from the awning room.

We did use our platform in the GX to sleep (like we did at Oxford Ranch Campground), but we set it up later in the evening & didn't take any pictures. However, it was SO comfortable and the best sleep we've got while camping!

Best part of the awning room is slightly being "inside" a tent and still getting to see the full views.

Daisy enjoyed the views too :)

Love of my life right here. Going on weekend adventures camping with you and Daisy is one of my favorite things to do. I'm so thankful for these adventures we get to experience together, and share with our future children.

We swam in the river, made friends with a camper and his kids nearby, had dinner while watching the sunset, played cards, then enjoyed a movie inside the awning room before doing some star gazing.

This picture doesn't do it justice, but even this shows the views we got to experience at night. I've never seen so many stars. It was magical to me!

It goes without saying, but we plan to visit Sulphur Springs Campground regularly.
